Simple Joy Sunday #8: The Death of My Black Thumb (hopefully!)

Entering in the new year I am taking real joy and pride in the fact that I think my black thumb may be falling off…knock on wood.

So while Heather over at Cool Zebras  is celebrating the joyful celebration of the New Year I am celebrating my new thumb!

When I brought this little beauty home in August all that was there was the dead stick you see on the top right. And with the sage advice of the Viridissima (hopefully I will be building her a website soon) I have birthed a new orchid. Every time I look at it I am amazed and thrilled and feel some sort of karmic forgiveness for the  10′s of other orchids I have killed.

P.S. My blogging anniversary giveaway is still open and won’t be done until Friday when I pick a lucky duck so either scroll down and check it out or click here.

Who’s Got a Black Thumb

I was kicking around an idea for a post and realized there is just not enough material there, literally to make an entire post so here are my craptastic gardening skillz.

Okay so these trees are doing really well, by the grace of the fucking Garden Fairy I guess, because the Garden Fairy giveth and the Garden Fairy taketh away!

Then there is the matter of our lawn

I would say from this angle it just looks like it is in need of a good mowing, but ohhhh how wrong, how very very wrong…
